Diarthonis includes a single species in temperate climates of the northern Hemisphere. Diarthonis spadicea is widespread in natural forest communities of southern to central Norway. The genus is lichenized with a trentepohlioid photobiont.

Remarks

Diarthonis has been included in Arthonia until recently. Based on molecular systematic studies, it has been accepted as independent genus by Cannon et al. (2020).
